Landscape Awakening was an event challenging contemporary perceptions of landscapes, often shaped by idealized images found in desktop wallpapers. This Table Manners function with Cyrus Peñarroyo juxtaposed a video-making workshop with an immersive environment, asking participants to reinvent physical and virtual desktops to confront the harsh realities of environmental degradation. Throughout the afternoon, fictional narratives emphasizing interconnectivity helped reframe the climate crisis and invited viewers to see their surroundings anew and to intervene in the world accordingly. The event equipped participants with tools and insights necessary to navigate and respond to the pressing matters of a changing world.
